We are meeting in homes around where you live. It is not mandatory that you host in your home. In the form to join a group, we ask if you are willing to open your home up to hosting. Some groups have one home that desires to host all gatherings and other groups have a rotation of homes to gather in.

A typical gathering will last around 90 minutes. There will be a time of gathering around food, the lesson, the practice and prayer. As we look at Scripture, we believe Jesus spent a lot of time with strangers, friends and family around a table. Gatherings start with food, whether that be simple snacks, ordering pizza or a full meal. Then we move into our time of our discussion, which includes a guide with the lesson and the practical ways we can live it out. Finally, we end in a time of taking prayer request and prayer for the group.

Our team collects information from the form you fill out and creates the group for you. This group formation is based on when you can meet, frequency of meeting, where you live and other components on the form to join a group.

Yes, groups previously were based on what community you attended at The Woodlands Methodist Church. This produced Harvest Home Groups, Loft Home Groups, Woodforest Home Groups and Traditional Home Groups. We are one church, and although we have different communities designed to meet you right where you are, we are all called to do life together. We are excited about groups that are made up of people all across our church community.

We are stepping into a new season in Home Groups, one that allows time to spend gathered around concepts and principles that help us grow in our spiritual formation. We are stepping into the format of what John Wesley called “class meetings.” In this format, we are answering questions that are transformative and a gauge of the state of our souls. We plan to provide our groups with tools for the conversational and practical application of this class meeting model in the life of a Home Group.
