A Prayer For Mission
"And Jesus came and spoke with them, saying, ‘All authority
has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and
make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the
Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to
observe all things I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you
always, even to the end of the age.’ Amen."
Matthew 28:18-20
Your selfless act of love and grace by choosing to die on the
cross for our sins divinely established a new covenant with
those who would receive Your gift of salvation. Heavenly Father,
by Your great love and mercy, You call us to follow You into the
world to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation
of the world. Holy Spirit, empower and equip us to be bold
about sharing our faith with those we encounter today in a
spirit of gentleness and respect. Holy Spirit, give us a heart of
compassion for the lost and a passion to spread Your Word
and the message of love and grace in the gospel to those in
our neighborhoods, our community and even to the ends of
the earth. Thank You for Your abiding presence and peace that
rests upon us and strengthens us as a people on mission with
You. We ask this in the name of our Triune King — Father, Son
and Holy Spirit. Amen.
