A Prayer For Works Of Mercy
“Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who
are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom
prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was
hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirst and you
gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited
me in.’”
Matthew 25:34-35
You are good and merciful. Your kindness for the last and the
least teaches us of love and humbles us with Your mercy. Your
care for all aspects of Your creation is endless. We worship
You, our life-giving, life loving God. We want to not only be
appreciators of your mercy, but also to show mercy, to live
mercy, to extend mercy. We want to be kingdom-minded
followers who reach out to the hungry, thirsty, broken, lonely
and forgotten. We want to love our neighbors even when they
are unlovely. Holy Spirit, lead us. May we be people whose lives
overflow with mercy in our beliefs and in our actions. For Your
kingdom and in Your name we pray. Amen.
